Right. Let's have a look at postcards, because postcards are something really easy to produce. You could get one made up today and get it shipped out. Free shipping usually, from someone like Vistaprint.com and get it shipped out to you within the next couple of days. Here's an example of one of my favorite marketing firsts. And I just want to go through putting together this postcard, what you're going to need is this ... How many different parts to it? One, two, three, four, five, maybe six different components. So this is just one side, the front. Who should we talk to? So put on a question that they are likely to be asking. Who should we talk to? And then the answer is free directory of recommended experts you'll need for successful whatever type of project you want to specialize in, okay? So you've got the headline, you've got the question, the question they'll be asking, the headline, which tells them what they're going to get and then number three you got to sell it. What's the value of it. Well, it includes the phone, email, website and how they can help you, saves ... no these are the benefits, saves you months of searching and because they specialize you get the job done right the first time. Okay, so that's the benefit of organizing. There's the image of the directory that you're likely to get and notice what we've got here, it's a thing called copy doodle, this thing on there, it's the red asterisk, it just captures the attention of people, so if you look at copy doodle, you might have to download some for free but they really do pack a punch. They make it stand out. And finally down at the bottom I've got, saved me a month of searching it's pinned to my wall, thank you. So it's kind of, it's a quote I've made up, I can attribute it to anyone, but those are the three carriers. Put the question on which is put in red, put the headline, which is what they're going to get and make sure it's specific to the type of projects you want. Number three put in why they should want it, what they get for it, number four, an image of the item. Number five, may be an asterisk or some sort of copy doodles which makes it stand out and get the attention, and six, some sort of testimonial. So that's the front, what's the back? Pretty simple, kind of similar to the front. Right, these are the experts you should be talking to, available for instant download and then go to the landing page, obviously the one that you've got made up, there, we can make that for you, we can make up the landing page, give you a URL and then you can go to Vista prints and you order it. Okay, you just go and order a postcard and you can lay it out like this, okay. Now, when you go to the landing page, the landing page will look kind of similar as well, okay, so it's quite important that the postcard in the landing page look the same so that when someone goes to the link that you've given them on the back of the postcard and they arrived here it looks like they're in the right place. It feels pretty similar to that, okay, so they kind of feel, yep, I'm in the right place, click here to download and off you go. You've got another prospect, another lead and the follow-up systems job is going to kick in. Anyway, that's it with the postcards, that's what it looks like, pretty simple, you've probably seen it in the direct, when I was talking about the directory of experts strategy. The sunshine island system. This is a big part of it but it doesn't have to be on this, it could be a postcard or letter. The beauty with the postcards is you can just hand them out. You can hand them out casually, you can hand them out to your dirty 30, you can leave them sitting in a rack at an office, your office, someone else's office, may be a builders office has been. You can get the builder, that's obviously a great thing to do, really useful to have a couple of hundred postcards in your possession at any time. So get that done, it's a really quick and easy thing to do. Probably cost you $20-$30 to get a couple hundred made up. |

Hi there. In this video, I'll show you how to create a postcard for your directory of experts, or you can use a postcard for anything you like. We've created a template for you, which you'll find in your promotional toolbox. When you click on "Postcards," you'll see a page with a link called "Postcard Template." Click on the postcard template and download it. I’m going to download it here to the desktop. If you have an Apple Mac and use Pages, you can work directly on it. I won't go through how to work in Pages, but you can change text and move things around. I’m going to show you how to do it in iCloud, so whether you're on a Mac or a PC, you'll be able to use it. First, download the document. Next, go to iCloud. If you don’t have an iCloud account, open one by going to iCloud.com and following the instructions. Since we have an iCloud account, I’m going to log in right now. Once in iCloud, click on "iCloud Drive." For this demonstration, I’ll create a folder called "Postcard Test." Open the folder, and drag the downloaded Pages file into it. This might take a few seconds. Now, open the document. This is a 6 by 9 inch postcard, which is a common size for printing whether you use VistaPrint or your local printer. Follow the instructions to customize the postcard. You can ask questions during the weekly coaching with Richard and Enic. We are promoting the project expert directory. Fill in the template with your local experts' information. For example, "Who are the local experts that specialize in home design in Sydney?" Depending on your needs, you may need to move text up or down and insert your details. Replace dummy text with your information, such as "Richard Petrie Architects." There is also a signature block and a placeholder for an image. Once you’ve made your changes, go to "Download" and select PDF. Most printing services require a PDF file. After downloading, save it to your desktop. If you have an image, you can drop it into the template. For example, search for an image on Google, download it, and drag it into the postcard template. You can stylize it or replace it with a picture of yourself. You can also create the postcard in any program you’re familiar with. While CAD programs are common, avoid using Microsoft Word for design work as it’s clunky. Pages, iCloud, Adobe InDesign, or CAD are better options for designing postcards. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please ask them on the Q&A calls. Speak soon. |
