Hey there Academy members. This is String here. In this video, I'll show you where you can download the content for the newsletters. This is related to module five, which is the Super Six. These are the newsletters to send to your Dirty 30. Once you're inside the Academy, go into the vault. We currently keep the newsletters in there. Scroll down until you find this part here, which says newsletter templates, and done for you content. Now there's a few components here. These are the source files to design your newsletter and then below is the monthly content. First things first, I'll show you the newsletter. You can click on here for a sample newsletter that we've created. That'll open up in a new page, and you can see one that we've created for Evangelo. That's coming up, and I'll go through what is included in the newsletter. There's two pages here, so think of it as tabloid size or A3 size if you're outside of the US. What we have here is the front page and then the back page. Then on the second page, this is the middle spread. The front page contains an article, which is to be provided by you, the member, and an image. That goes into, that's individualized onto each newsletter. There's a title here, I recommend giving your newsletter a title and then putting your monkey's fist over here. You want them to be able to go download the monkey's fist. On the back page, a little bit of a profile. Who you are, what your business does. We include a puzzle of the month, which is a word search, and then again because on the back page you'll have the download. The option for them to go and download your monkey's fist. Now, the inside content is all created by us. You'll get these images, and the text to put into your newsletter. There's a feature article, which is a little bit longer. We do an iconic building of the month section, and a famous quote. I'll show you how to get that content. The first thing to do is, you can download it in two formats. It's either the Adobe N design template or Apple Pages template. Now, if you're on a PC you won't have the Apple Pages version. Use the one that you're more familiar with. Now in the N design, there's two files here. The INDD is for more recent N design versions. If that doesn't work, then use the IDML file. If I open this up, I'll download it. I've got an older version of N design, so I'll select the IMDL file. It's going to go into my downloads folder. If I open that, we'll see that the N design file comes up. It may look a little different to what we have and depending on your system, you may need to install the fonts, but this si the layout, so you may want to play around with it or talk to someone who works in N design to customize this content here. As you can see, in this one here it's not picking up the fonts, so there's a little bit of tweaking to do in here. It's 99% done. That's where to get the N design file. The next one is, if you want the Pages version, well actually I'll show you. This should load pretty quickly. You go to Pages. Okay, you'll see what it looks like here. It looks the same as the other one except that it's a different software. If you're working on a Mac, this is probably the better one to use. I actually built it originally in Mac because I use Mac and find it a little bit easier. Then there's also the font. We're using Helvetica Neue. You can go in and download the font there. That's a zip file. Once you've got your template built, the next section is getting in the monthly content. Each month, we will release here inside the vault, content for your newsletter. Let me go to this latest one. The latest one as of this recording is September 2015. You can click on the preview button, and that preview will show you the content that we provide each month. What your newsletter article looks like. We provide the puzzle here, and the content on this page. The reason why this is bare bones over here, is because this is what your bio and then your monkey's fist offers that go at the bottom, and your front page article and your title. That's just created the first time you create your template. You create your template and then each month you drop in our content plus you write your 180 to 220 word short article on the front and drop in the image on the front. The content comes in a zip file and I'll show you. It may be a little bit confusing if you don't watch this video. There's the zip file, so if we look at ... Actually it's not that one. This latest one, I have the latest preview, this is the September issue and you'll see these images over here and words. What we've included in this zip file is each of the images that go inside your newsletter. There's the puzzle as the SCV file. SCV if the stripped down version of Excel. You can go in there, copy and drop that inside your template and there's also the text. The text looks, the formatting has been stripped. It's just so if you choose to create your feature articles or your newsletter in any other format and you use different fonts, then they're not going to be overridden because this is the stripped format. We've got the feature article, which as the title then the body text, the iconic building of the month, so it's all labeled easy to read. Then you've got the text there. The famous quote with the author and then the puzzle. What's the title and what are the words that go in there. Hopefully, this has made it pretty easy for you to create your newsletter. Again, you can start without template or you can build your own, but if you do build your own just count, make sure that these words fit on your content, on your template, because it's going to make it easier going forward month to month. You can have 80% or even 90% of your newsletter done and then just drop in the little bit of customization, which is that front page article and image. If you have any issues, let us know. Otherwise, jump in the vault and start creating your newsletter. |

Hi there, Rockstars. String here again and in this video I'm just gonna show you an option. If you haven't got the time to create your newsletter, we do encourage that you do, but if you don't have the time, or you'd rather outsource it, we do have Twinkle who is also able to put newsletters together for our members. This is a paid service and there'll be a link here, and I'll show you what it looks like. Here's one that we prepared for Eddie Gontram. So one of the members of the academy. Eddie sends us content each month ... If we go to a single page. Each month Eddie sends us this section here, which is the front page article, the front page title and an image. What we do is we put everything else together including we build the template out initially with the monkey's fist image, the words in here, putting in the logos, dropping in the images, so we build the template out. What it looks like is it's pretty simple once you get started. As I say, this is 2015 ... Sorry, let me have a look at the template. The first thing is the template. We're gonna ask you to ... if you go ahead, there'll be a document to fill in. I won't go through it but it goes through what's your name, where does your monkey's fist live, give us some words for your bio page and send us an image for your profile shot and also an image of your monkey's fist. That's pretty much it. And then we'd build the template for you. This is based on the template that you see inside the vault. You'll see that the template looks very bare because we're just eliminating ... we're putting in the things that will appear every month which is the title, the offer on the monkey's fist and the bio. You can see the second page, it has nothing in it because we create this for you each month. Now, then the only thing that you need to send to us and I'll show you what Eddie sends to us each month, so [inaudible 00:02:41] for June 2015, Eddie sends us a short Word document which is the front page article, and the image that he'd like to put on the front page. We take that, Twinkle and I, usually Twinkle looks after this. She then builds out your newsletter and sends back the pdf so it's ready to go to print. This is just a bit of a shortcut. As I did mention, it is a paid service. We do have staff who do this, but if you're interested in saving time and you just want someone else to do it, then yeah, feel free to click on the link and get in contact with us. We'd be happy to do it for you. Otherwise, definitely send out the newsletters. They're very good and they get ... they stick around a lot longer than emails. If you need some proof, maybe even jump in the members' forum and shoot a message out to Eddie because he's had great success with these newsletters, and I think he's only, as of this recording, he has only sent four out. Yeah, four to date. Thanks very much and look forward to seeing you inside the academy, and if you have any questions about the newsletters, feel free to shoot us an email support@architectsmarketing.com. |
