Part of setting up your Ask the Expert offer includes connecting to your booking calendar. If you don't have one yet, you can create a free Youcanbook.me account. Go to https://youcanbook.me to get started.

Watch the video above to see how to find the embed code for your calendar. You'll need this information to complete this form. After you've set up your account, copy the embed code and put it into a text document for easy reference, so you can copy it later for your submission form.

If you have another online booking calendar (such as Calendly or similar) you'll need to copy the embed code they provide.

When you've gotten this set up and have the embed code handy, you can move on to the next step.

TECH NOTES

Free accounts at YouCanBook.me are still available as far as we know, even though their website asks you to sign up for a 14 day trial.

After the trial, you can choose not to pay for an account and instead, stick with their free plan. The free account is functional enough for our purposes.

There are a few limitations for the free accounts:

  1. When a contact books an appointment, they are not redirected to a confirmation page. You'll need to fill in a suitable confirmation or "thank you" message that will be displayed in-line on the web page.
  2. You will set your calendar availability within their portal, rather than dynamically using special appointment time slots in your calendar. This isn't usually an issue, as long as you're happy with setting a regular schedule (such as Tuesday afternoon 2 to 5 pm and Friday morning 10 am to noon, or similar). Of course, it will not double-book if it sees any appointments set up (by its own mechanism or by yourself for something else) during those scheduled times.
  3. You'll only be able to use one calendar; this is fine for a sole practitioner, or a company which only wants to offer one set of appointments.
  4. There are one or two other small things, such as the ability to fully customize the calendar color or style, and the option to hide their logo.

If you decide any of these limitations are an issue, the monthly cost for a paid account is currently just $10/month.

Another calendar application to check out is Calendly. It has a similar free plan, as well as low cost paid plans.
